Collage time
Find some magazines and newspapers you no longer use. Show your child how to use scissors (if age appropriate) and encourage them to make a collage. Give them a hand at the beginning by showing them how to cut around pictures.

Use this time to make your own collage. When was the last time you made one? Your kids will enjoy looking at what you do and they will be learning without knowing it by trying to copy you .
To have it ready at any time, just have a plastic pocket handy to put everything inside so the activity will be ready for next time.
