What can you find?
Put some soil in a container and hide some toy bugs for the kids to dig out and find.
This activity is a great way to teach kids about animails, soil, plants, ecosystems… adding labels and researching about the animals found could be a good way to practice writting too. You could also extend this into a whole presentation about the activity.

There is no need for a garden with this activity. You can addapt it to suit your needs. A bit of rice or beans (which you can keep on a container for future explorations and games) and any toy will do to make it exciting.
